Fairhope, PA - Henrietta (Ret) Violet Leydig, 93 of Fairhope, went home to be with the Lord on August 3, 2026. At the time of her death, she was surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 21, 1932, to the late George J. and Violet M. (Emerick) Larson.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Walter F. Leydig and siblings, Albert Larson, Betty Pencil, Lulubelle Mangus, Elieen Emerick, and Patricia Miller.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara May and husband Jim of Hyndman; grandchildren, Matthew May and wife Julie of Josuha, TX, Amber Holberg and husband Paul John of Manns Choice; great grandchildren, Jacob, Isabella, McKinley, Emmett, Kingsley, Landry, and Victoria. She is also survived by brothers, Charles Larson and Ralph Larson, along with many nieces and nephews.

When she was able, she attended Fairhope Community Church. She loved reading her Bible. Her house was the Sunday afternoon gathering place where she made dinner for everyone.

As the oldest in her family, Henrietta quit school in 8th grade to help support her family. That strong work ethic followed her through life. She enjoyed keeping in touch with her family and friends by chatting on the phone. Henrietta loved country music, especially her "drunken George." She was known to speak her mind by everyone who knew her.

Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. She loved them with all her heart. She took care of them every chance she had.

Family will receive friends on Friday August 7, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, at 169 Clarence Street Hyndman, PA 15545. There will be a funeral service on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at 1 p.m., at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home. Officiating will be Pastor Dan Leister and interment to follow at the Hyndman Cemetery.

The family wants to extend special thanks to the staff of Bedford Post Acute for her care during her stay.
