Irene Elizabeth
CUMBERLAND - Irene Elizabeth "Reen" Hoyle, 86, passed away on Sunday, Dec. 1, 2019, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born in Cumberland, on Nov. 28, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Blaine and Famie Elizabeth (Squires) Hoyle. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Howard Hoyle and wife, Ruth, Clarence "Huck" Hoyle, and Arthur Hoyle and wife, Jean; sister, Juanita Lesch and husband, Joseph; brother-in-law, William Nolan.
Reen was a graduate of Fort Hill High School, class of 1951. Following high school, she was employed at the Bus Terminal, and M&K Restaurant before working at Memorial Hospital. While working at the hospital, Reen attended LPN school, and she graduated as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She was employed for 23 years in the Memorial Hospital Operating Room.
Reen was a member of Living Word Lutheran Church. She also attended the retirement luncheons of the former employees of the Operating Room of Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her sister, S. "Net" Nolan, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Friday, Dec. 6, 2019, from 3-6 p.m. Following the visitation the funeral service will be conducted at 6 p.m.
Burial will be in Greenmount Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers those wishing to honor Reen's memory may do so by making contributions to the Living Word Lutheran Church, 800 Hill Top Drive, Cumberland, MD 21502.
