James Walter Howser
FORT ASHBY, W.Va. - James Walter Howser, 79, of Fort Ashby, passed away Monday, Nov. 18, 2019, at his residence.
Born Oct. 10, 1940, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Walter and Arvella (Eshbaugh) Howser. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, William and Robert; and sister, Ruth Weber.
James served his country in the United States Navy Seabees. He retired from Kelly Springfield, but he had also worked for the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and Blind, as well as for Nelson Auto Sales. He was a member of the national Experimental Aircraft Association and local chapter 426.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Jane (Dyche) Howser; two sons, Mark and wife, Pam, Kevin and wife, Wendy; daughter, Joyce; grandchildren, Samantha and Aaron, Josh and Amber, Julie, Nick, Zach, Kallie and Damian, Sean, Aaron; great-grandchildren, Benson, Evalyn; brother, David and Fran; sisters, Cathy and Paul, Jane and Kenny.
The family would like to extend special thanks to Charlotte Wagoner, James' caregiver; Katie and Angie, of Aging and Family Services; John, Shannon, Stephanie, and Drew, of Valley Medical; and Amy Radkey and Jacinda Middleton, of Potomac Valley Hospice.
In accordance with James' wishes, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life for family and friends will be held April 4, 2020, at noon, at the family farm.
