James Leo McBee Obituary

Oakland, Maryland - James "Leo" McBee, 90, of Oakland, went to his heavenly home to be with his Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Born on September 5, 1934, in Berkeley Springs, WV, he was the son of the late John Glenwood McBee and Evalyn Leona (Clark) McBee.


He is survived by his daughter, Gwen Evans and husband Mel of Oakland; granddaughters, Brianna Graham and husband Austin, and Bethany Wesolowski and husband Zach, both of Oakland; great grandsons, Oscar Reid and Judah James Graham; a great granddaughter arriving in November. He is also survived by a sister in law, Cosette Harman and husband Edgar; a brother in law, Allan DeWitt; and several nieces and nephews.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Patricia Gwen McBee; his son, James Leo "Jimmy" McBee; brother, Ken McBee; and sister in law, Thelma Rae DeWitt.


Friends will be received at the Fredlock & Fenner Funeral Homes, P.A. - Oakland, 21 N 2nd St., Oakland, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Crellin United Brethren in Christ Church, 65 Otterbein St., Oakland on Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 11 AM with Pastor Ed Calhoun officiating, assisted by Michael Mudge. Interment will follow in the Garrett County Memorial Gardens.


Memorial donations in Leo's name may be given to a charity of one's choice.
