Cresaptown, MD - Janet Louise (Parsons) Barton, 80, of Cresaptown, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 27, 2025, at home.
Born Dec.16, 1944, in Keyser, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Harold and Beatrice Irene (Junkins) Parsons. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Thomas Michael "Judge" Barton in November 2024; all of her siblings, Bobby, Mary, and Carol; and her treasured dog, Boots.
Janet was a graduate of Bruce High School. She went on to build a family with her husband, Tom, and spending time with her children and grandchildren was her favorite pastime. Janet also enjoyed shopping and decorating her home.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her daughter, Debra Stotler and husband Emmett, of Flintstone; two sons, Michael and Tommy Barton, both of Cresaptown; two grandsons, Scott Davis, of Flintstone, and Michael Barton, of Rawlings; granddaughter, Janna (Barton) Mulvey and husband Bronson, of Cumberland; one great granddaughter, Aubree Barton, of LaVale; sisters-in-law, Nancy Barton Cole and husband Conrad, of Clearwater, Fla., and Cheri Barton, of Cresaptown. In addition, Janet is survived by numerous nieces and nephews in both Maryland and Florida. A special "thank you" to Stacy Hartman, mother of Janet's grandchildren and her "other daughter," for providing loving care to Janet over the years.
Visitation will be at Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 15205 McMullen Hwy SW, Cresaptown, MD on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. A funeral service will immediately follow at 5:30 p.m. with the Rev. Harold R. McClay, Jr. officiating.
