Cumberland, Maryland - CUMBERLAND [mdash] Jeanne Marie Taylor, 81, of Cumberland, Md., passed away on May 24, 2026, at Allegany Health Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Jeanne was born on June 5, 1944, to Nellie and William Taylor. She graduated high school from Catholic Girls Central in 1962. Jeanne attended University of Maryland College Park and later graduated from Frostburg State University. She received her master's degree from Central Michigan University.

Jeanne worked for Bell Systems and then AT&T in Washington, D.C., her entire career. Upon retiring, Jeanne moved back to Cumberland to her little house across from Lake Habeeb in Rocky Gap. She loved her dogs that she had during her life. Jeanne also loved quilting and her many quilting friends. Later she moved to a senior apartment and adopted a kitten to keep her company.

Jeanne is survived by sons, Scott Golden (Jennifer) of Midlothian, Va., and Reid Golden of Cumberland. She is also survived by brother, Ed Taylor (Darlene) of LaVale, Md.; sisters, Linda Gordon (Ron) of Monrovia, Md., and Shelly Taylor of Cumberland, Md. Surviving also are grandchildren, Alex, Jonathan, Kayanna, Sierra, Schyler; and many nieces and nephews.
