Jennie Lee Scott
Jennie Lee Scott, 94, of Frostburg, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2020, at Berkley Medical Center, Martinsburg, W.Va., surrounded by her family.
She was born Nov. 22, 1925, in Gilmore, to Thomas and Margaret (McFarland) Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, James Scott; second husband, William Wattenschaidt; and daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Kreger. She is the last surviving member of her eight siblings.
Jennie eloped with the love of her life the night of her Central High School graduation. She was a member of Frostburg United Methodist Church, God's Ark of Safety and the Red Hat Society. She retired from the Celanese Corporation and worked for Marriott at FSU following her retirement.
In her early years Jennie and her husband, Jim, had enjoyed square dancing and being a part of the Allegany Promenaders of Cumberland and The Grand Squares of Hagerstown. Through the years Jennie enjoyed hosting her Skip-bo card friends, playing cards at the Frostburg Senior Center, and bowling on leagues at The Bowler and Sherwood Lanes. Jennie also won awards for her peanut butter fudge.
Jennie is survived by her daughter, Eileen May and husband, Dayton "Buck"; granddaughter, Jennifer May-Sanner, and her children, Isaiah, Lilianah, Makiah, Eliah, Jaziah, and Ezariah; grandson, Stephen Kreger and wife, Jessica, and their children, Calin and Luke; granddaughter, Jonelle Deavers and husband, Philip; son-in-law, Steve Kreger; numerous special nieces, nephews, and many special friends.
Friends will be received at God's Ark of Safety, 18606 Cherry Lane, S.W., Frostburg, on Thursday, Jan. 23, 2020, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held at God's Ark of Safety on Friday, Jan. 24, 2020, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Everett Spence officiating.
Interment will follow in Frostburg Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations to God's Ark of Safety.
