JoAnn  Flynn
CUMBERLAND - JoAnn Flynn, 85, originally of Cumberland passed away Oct. 18, 2019, at the Julia Manor Nursing Home in Hagerstown.
JoAnn was born on March 15, 1934, in Cumberland, to the late Earl and Grace Rowe. In addition to her parents JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Michael F. Flynn, and one sister, Geraldine M. Evans.
She retired from the Board of Education where she worked for many years as a secretary. JoAnn was a lifelong dancer; as a child she toured with a vaudeville variety show and then later in life she performed as one of the Never Too Late Girls with the Lepley Dance Studio. She loved to garden and sew, but especially enjoyed playing the piano and organ.
JoAnn is survived by two daughters, Michelle Thorfinnsson, husband, Ernest Jr. of Baltimore, and Patricia Fedorczyk, husband, Larry of Waynesboro, Pa.; four grandchildren, M. Amanda McCarty of Elkton, Justin J. McCarty III and wife, Kristina Geiselhart of Morgantown, W.Va., Jennifer Forbes-Martin and husband, Kenneth of Syracuse, Utah, and John E. Yost III of Syracuse; and a great-grandson, Logan Forbes of Syracuse.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, Monday, Oct. 21st from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. a funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m..
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

I took care of julia at nurseing home. She was such a sweet ladt always a smile on her face. I will miss you girl. Rip julia loveya.

we were classmates at Fort Hill graduating in 1952. I enjoyed my friendship with Joann. I am sorry for your loss.
