Hagerstown, MD - HAGERSTOWN [mdash] Joanne Fiery Scarcelli, 88, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Cumberland, passed away, Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at Brookdale Senior Living.

Born Sunday, May 2, 1937, in Hagerstown, she was the daughter of the late Glenn Edward Fiery and the late Lucille (Charles) Fiery. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert E. Scarcelli in 2019.

Joanne graduated from Hagerstown High School in 1955 and in 1959 from Frostburg State Teachers College. She married her husband Bob in 1960. After some brief employment Joanne enjoyed being a stay-at-home wife and mom.

Both Bob And Joanne got the "travel bug" which took them on three driving USA trips from coast to coast.

She is survived by her brothers, Edward G. Fiery Jr., and wife, Kathy; and Thurman Charles Fiery, and wife, Bonnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Robert Scarcelli; sister, Linda Fiery; and brother, Sam Fiery, and wife, Judy.

Family received friends at the Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home 1331 Eastern Blvd. North, Hagerstown, MD on Sunday, April 12, 2026, from 1 to 3 p.m.

Services will be held at a later date, with interment at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Robert E. Scarcelli Scholarship Fund c/o Fort Hill High School 500 Greenway Avenue, Cumberland, MD 21502.
