LaVale, Maryland - John Emory Glosser, Jr., 78, of LaVale, Md., passed away, Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, at UMPC-Western MD in Cumberland.

Born July 19, 1946, in Hagerstown, Md., he was the son of the late John Emory Glosser, Sr. and Rhoda Jane (Gorman) Glosser.

John started with the Allegany County Board of Education, then he left to teach at the Center for Career and Technical Education until retirement. While with the Board of Education, he traveled to India. He was an avid musician who played in multiple bands throughout Maryland for about 50 years and was the maintenance man for several apartment buildings. He formerly attended Hagerstown Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by one son, Aaron Glosser and wife, Christina; one sister, Jean Glosser; and one granddaughter, Brianna Glosser.

John was preceded in death by one sister, Dolores Brandenberg.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown, Md.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours prior to services on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024.
