Oldtown, MD - Joyce Marie Cartwright, 94, of Oldtown, died on July 12, 2026, at home.

Born Feb. 2, 1932, in Wilmington, Del., she was the daughter of the late Ervin and Hattie (Jones) Marine.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Willard Harvy Cartwright Sr.; a daughter, Joyce Helen Petenbrink; a son, William Levi Cartwright; three grandchildren, David, Shawn and Casey; and two great-grandchildren; and her siblings.

Mrs. Cartwright was a devoted homemaker. She belonged to Oldtown Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Oldtown Volunteer Fire Company.

Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Sears, Corlin Herndon, and Terry Robey and her husband Mark; sons, Willard Cartwright Jr. and Gilbert Cartwright; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren; and a special great-nephew and great-niece, Jeff and Linda Cartwright.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Friday from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., with Chaplain Seth Wharton officiating.

Interment will be in Oldtown Cemetery.
