Romney, West Virginia - Joyce Elizabeth Sudlow, age 68, of Romney, W.Va., passed from this life on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

Born on March 21, 1956, she was raised in Fairless Hills, Pa., and resided in her dream home in the mountains of Romney, W.Va. for the last 33 years. She was the youngest daughter of the late William and Alice Greenwood. Joyce was preceded in death by her brother, Lynn A. Greenwood.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 48 years, Richard Sudlow; her sister, Irene and John Botteicher; and her three daughters, Jennifer and Daniel Richard, Laura and Todd Thorne, and Denise and Roger Lough. She is also survived by grandchildren, Ara, Kerin, Blaine, Carter, and Hunter; her many nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her sweet baby boy, Tyson. All of whom she loved more than life itself.

Joyce volunteered more than a decade of her life to Missionettes, a girls' program, where she instilled integrity and faith in young girls. She had three loves in her life that made her world turn: her best friend Jesus Christ, her family, and her jokes (in that order). Her faith was unshakable and truly made her the person she was. She was strong and determined almost to a fault. She was always pulling an innocent prank or joke to make people smile. In her pastime, she enjoyed baking, sewing, reading, and nature.

Her favorite verse, and life mantra was "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me." Philippians 4:13

Friends will be received on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at Calvary Assembly of God in Fort Ashby, W.Va., from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., with a funeral service officiated by Pastor Wesley Beahm immediately following. Interment will be private.
