Kenneth Wayne Crabtree, 65, of Oldtown, passed away on Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center.
Born on Sept. 11, 1953, he was the son of the late Alan Eugene and Eleanor Lorraine (Crites) Crabtree. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Crabtree; and a grandson, Steve Porter.
Kenneth was a 1972 graduate of Oldtown High School. He worked as a laborer at Pilgrim's Pride chicken processing plant in Moorefield, W.Va., for many years. He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors, fishing, and hunting, watching NASCAR and wrestling, and playing with his grandkids. Kenneth was a very hard-working man. He was kind, caring, loving, and would be willing to help anyone in need.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Amanda Brown, Christina Crabtree and fiancé, Jamie Shockey, and Ina Porter and husband, Chris, all of Cumberland; grandchildren, Shawn Crabtree and fiancé, Heather Wolfe, Kianna Chesterfield, Trenten Lewis, Destiney Bowser, MaKayla Evans, Rebecca Crabtree, and Laura Porter; great-grandchildren, Landon and Mollie Crabtree; brothers, Eddie and Jerry Crabtree; and sister, Cindy Dillsworth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Family and friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Avenue, Cumberland, on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, from 5 to 7 p.m.
A memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home immediately following visitation at 7 p.m.
