Westernport, MD - Lawrence "Lolly" Ternent Sr., 94, a resident of Moran Manor, died Wednesday, May 13, 2026. Born on April 30, 1932, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late James and Racheal (Darnley) Ternent.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Shirley Ternent; and seven siblings, Pearl, Florence, Edith, Virginia, George, Cecil and William. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.

Lovingly known to all as "Lolly," Lawrence was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. He had worked at the Celanese in the custodial department. He loved to paint, sing and play piano. He also enjoyed playing checkers and dominoes during his time at Moran Manor.

He is survived by two children, Barbara Cutter and husband Blaine of Damascus, and Larry Ternent and wife Mary of LaVale; five grandsons, Christopher Cutter, Bryan Ternent, Justin Ternent- Wittenbach, Jason Boyce and Adam Boyce; three great-grandchildren, Dashanti Garlitz, Madisen Boyce and Elijah Ternent; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, May 18, 2026, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Holiness Church, Lonaconing, with Pastor David Schoch and Pastor Blaine Cutter officiating. Family and friends will be received one hour prior, from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will be held at Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone. Military honors will be accorded by Vietnam Veterans of America Post #172, Cumberland.
