Accident, Maryland - Leona Grace (Friend) Glass, 97, of Accident, Md., went to be with the Lord Wednesday, Dec. 10, 2025, at her home.

Born Nov. 26, 1928, in Friendsville, Md., she was the daughter of the late Samuel Ernest and Sadie Madge (Townsend) Friend. She is proceeded in death by her loving husband of more than 61 years, Gerald Lee Glass; three sisters, Helen Friend, Ethel Hanft and Betty Friend; one brother, Woodrow Friend; and a son-in-law, Philip K. Buckel.

Mrs. Glass was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She retired from First United National Bank, Oakland, Md., after 20 years of service, starting as a teller and advancing to assistant manager at the McHenry, Md., location. She was an avid church member, serving as a member of the ladies' aid group, a Sunday school teacher and an adviser to the youth group. Her love of family was compassionate, which was displayed through her knowledge of life's experiences with a caring nature. She loved travel and camping with family and friends to the extent of visiting 49 of our 50 states.

Surviving are two daughters, Sondra R. Buckel, Bittinger, Md., and Geraldine L. (Gary) Teats, Accident; four grandchildren, Randal K. (fiancée Emily) Buckel, Cumberland, Jerod R. (Carolyn) Buckel, Wilmington, Del., Tracy A. (Robert) Logan, Harpers Ferry, W.Va., Cynthia M. (Brian) Chaney, McHenry; four great-grandchildren, Neil Philip (Amber) Buckel, Chambersburg, Pa., Nicholas Kyle (Kaytlyn) Buckel, Frostburg, Kyle Zachery Chaney, Blake Hunter Chaney and Noah James Cowan; and three great-great-grandchildren, Ford Austin Buckel, Brenna Grace Buckel and Cory Nicholas Buckel.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, MD, on Sunday, Dec. 14, 2025, from 2 to 7 p.m. Services will be conducted in the Zion Lutheran Church, Accident, on Monday, Dec. 15, 2025, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Benjamin Hertel officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul's Cemetery, Accident.

Pallbearers will be Randal Buckel, Jerod Buckel, Tracy Logan, Gary Teats, Neil Buckel and Nicholas Buckel. Honorary pallbearers will be Kyle Chaney, Blake Chaney and Noah Cowan.
