Hagerstown, Maryland - Leslie Richard Wilson Sr., 73, of Hagerstown, formerly of Lonaconing, passed away surrounded by family at his home on Sunday, Oct. 6, 2019.

Born Aug. 23, 1946, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late Mary Clementine (Moses) and John William Wilson Sr.

He graduated from Valley High School, in Lonaconing, with the class of 1964. He served with the U.S. Army and retired from the National Guard after 20 years of service with the Cigna Division. He retired from Mack Truck after 45 years of service.

Leslie was a member of American Legion Post 211 in Funkstown, AMVETS Post 10 of Hagerstown, and the Williamsport Red Men Tribe 84.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Victoria (Hitchins) Wilson, formerly of Frostburg; daughter, Amy Sue Bryan (Donald) of Hagerstown; son, Leslie Richard "Rick" Wilson Jr. (Tina) of Needmore, Pa.; sister, Mary K. Helmick of Keyser, W.Va.; brother, Stephen Wilson of Keyser; five grandchildren, Emily and Rebekah Bryan, Brittinee, Christopher, and Emma Wilson; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Leslie was preceded in death by two brothers, John William Wilson Jr. of Illinois and Robert Wilson of Oakland.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019, at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 E. Wilson Blvd., Hagerstown.

Burial will be at 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, in Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 11128 Cash Valley Road, Cumberland.

Graveside honors provided by Fort Cumberland Post 13 American Legion Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, Oct. 9, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m.
