Linda Lee Luci Obituary

Monroe, MIchigan - Linda Lee (Boone) Luci was born in Cumberland, Md., on March 17, 1948, to Daniel and Geraldine (Read) Boone. She passed away peacefully in her home with her husband, Alex, by her side, on April 2, 2026, from complications with Alzheimer's disease.

Linda graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1966. Before graduating high school, she trained at Tri-State Beauty Academy and worked at Scotty's Beauty Salon in Cumberland. She later worked at Athey's Beauty Center until she relocated to Ohio. Her passion as a hairstylist was evident. She loved her clients, and her talent earned her awards early in her career.

She later moved to Monroe County, Michigan, where she spent several years at home raising her young children. Upon her reentry into the workforce, she was employed at local establishments such as Bazley's, Meijer, and Fritz Gifts and Collectibles, and provided childcare for several grandchildren.

Linda married her high school sweetheart, Chris Sterne, although they later divorced. In 1972, she married George Smith and was blessed with two children, Sacha and Shallon. On June 4, 1983, she married Alex S. Luci and gained three stepsons. They shared 42 years of marriage.

Linda leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Alex S. Luci; two sisters, Sharon (Charlies) Clark and Joyce (George) Lapp; two children, Sacha (Dave) Moore and Shallon Smith; three stepsons, Brian (Kowana) Luci, Scott (Sarah) Luci and Adam (Heather) Luci; nine grandchildren, Andrew Scott, Aaron Luci, Jonathan Luci, Kirsten Luci, Joshua (Shaylee) Luci, Sydney Smith, Lucas Moore, Summer Smith and Parker Moore; a nephew, Trey (Heather) Clark, and their children, Peyton and Addison.

She was preceded by her parents and stepfather, James Brown, of Cumberland.

Linda loved that her birthday fell on St Patrick's Day and enjoyed celebrating with flair. She was an amazing cook and baker, excelling at making the holidays special. In her down time, she enjoyed playing cards at the clubhouse, taking classes at the YMCA, cheering her grandchildren on at their sporting events and attending group Bible study. As an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Monroe, she headed a highly attended monthly salad luncheon for several years. She also served at a local food pantry and was active with Stephen Ministry. In 2020, Linda and Alex became members of Trinity Lutheran Church.

Services were held April 6, 2026, at Merkel Funeral Service, North Monroe, Mich.

Memorial contributions are suggested to T.O.N.E. Hospice, 33742 West 12 Mile Road, A2, Farmington Hills, MI 48331; or Trinity Lutheran Church, 323 Scott St., Monroe, MI 48161.
