Cresaptown, MD - Lora Rae Murphy, 71, born on Oct. 3, 1954, in Connellsville, Pa., to the late Jaquelyn Murphy and Vincent Murphy, passed away on Oct. 17, 2025.
She is survived by her son, Matthew Vincent Murphy of Cresaptown, Md.; siblings and spouses, Sharon Helmick and husband Ron from Bedford, Pa., Richard Murphy and wife Phyliss from Bedford, Pa., Mark Murphy and wife Denise from Bedford, Pa., Sandra Llewellyn and husband Jim from Cumberland, Md.
Lora was a genuine soul. She would help anyone she could, even if it meant she would do without.
In her younger years, she was a bartender at Apples gateway, where she was known to all as "Ralph."
After the birth of her son Matthew, she established her own business as a daycare provider. This was the perfect job for her. She loved children. All the children loved her. She was goofy, loving, funny and silly all combined in one.
In her retirement, she enjoyed coloring and listening to audiobooks.
Lora will be missed immensely. She was very special to many people.
Per Lora's wishes, there will not be any memorial service.
