Cumberland, MD - CUMBERLAND [mdash] Lynda Elaine Garlitz, 77, of Cumberland, Md., died Friday, May 30, 2025, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland.

Born January 19, 1948, in Columbia, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Edward & Dolores (Tyson) Bartch. She was preceded in death by one son, Scott Garlitz; and one sister, Dolores McKenzie.

Mrs. Garlitz was a nurse's aide. She was president of the Allegany County Women's Democratic Club, served as commander of Henry Hart VFW Post 1411, Cumberland, member of Fort Cumberland Post 13, American Legion Auxiliary, and Nave's Crossroads Sportsmen Club.

Surviving is her husband, Carl William Garlitz, Sr.; three sons, Carl W. Garlitz, Jr. and wife, Stephanie; Palmer-Garlitz, Decatur, Ill.; William B. Garlitz & Gregory W. Garlitz, both of Cumberland; one brother, Edward Bartch; and one sister, Regina Krebbs, both of Baltimore; six grandchildren, Britton Garlitz, Owen Garlitz, Morgan Garlitz-Smith, Alexis Garlitz, Ashley Garlitz, Zachary Garlitz; and six great-grandchildren, Lilie, Niko, Harlyn, Ava, Beau, Jr. and Memphis.

Friends will be received at the Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, Md., on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Divine Mercy Parish, St. Ann Catholic Church, on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 11 a.m., with Father Ed Hendricks officiating. Interment will be in the St. Ann's Cemetery.
