Frostburg, MD - Marie Catherine (Brehun) Wagner, 93, of Zihlman, died on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Sterling Frostburg Village Nursing and Rehab Center. Born in Buffington, Pa. on Oct. 25, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Nicholas and Julia (Podkaliski) Brehun. She was preceded in death by brothers, Joseph Brehun of Uniontown, Pa.; John Brehun of Uniontown, Pa.; and Francis Brehun of Perth Amboy, N.J.; and sister, Anna (Brehun) Grote of New Salem, Pa.

Marie graduated from North Union Township High School, Uniontown, Pa. in 1949 before becoming a bookkeeper with General Motors Acceptance Corporation in Washington, D.C. It was there that she met her future husband, Jerry, with whom she shared 60 years of marriage before his death in 2017. Marie was a doting wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her loving daughters, Susan Sosnowik of Lawrence, N.Y.; Patricia Wagner of Bethesda, Md.; Carol Wagner of Morgantown, W.Va.; and Laura Vickery of Solomons, Md. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and her sister, Rita (Brehun) Shander of Uniontown, Pa.

Family and friends will be received at the Sowers Funeral Home on Monday, April 7, 2025, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., with a funeral Mass following at 11 a.m. at Saint Michael Catholic Church in Frostburg with Father Ed Hendricks as celebrant.

Interment will be in the Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.
