Martha Lee Martin  Zollner


Martha Lee Martin Zollner, of Cumberland, died July 12, 2019, at the Allegany Health, Nursing and Rehab Center.
Born June 9, 1927, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Daniel and Margret (Johnson) Langer. Martha Lee was preceded in death by her first husband, Robert J. Martin Sr. and her second husband, Stanford W. Zollner. She was also predeceased by her son Randy, who tragically died in an auto accident at the age of four.
Martha Lee is survived by her son, Robert J. Martin Jr. and his wife, Bonnie, and her son, Larry R. Martin and his wife, Peggy. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Margret Dormi;, sister-in-law, Sue Martin; grandchildren, Stacey Lyn Becker, Brian R. Martin, Tiffany Knaul, Jaime Waterfield, and Jennifer Martin; great-grandchildren, Grace Martin, Cooper Martin, Andrew Becker, Emily Knaul, Carter Knaul, Davis Waterfield, and Austin Waterfield. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and their families.
Martha Lee was a graduate of Allegany High School, class of 1945. Until the last few years, Martha Lee actively met with her high school group to enjoy a leisurely lunch and reminisce. Martha Lee and her husband, Robert, started and operated Potomac Valley Pharmacy. She spent years working at the various Potomac Valley locations, waiting on customers and keeping the books. She particularly enjoyed managing the Hallmark department. She enjoyed bowling with her late husband, Bob, and the many activities related to her husband's membership at the Ali Ghan Shrine Temple, including attending functions, conventions and going on the many trips sponsored by the Shrine with their friends from the Shrine Motor Corps. She also loved their home in LaVale, entertaining and utilizing their pool and patio. She also enjoyed traveling to Florida, Alabama and other locations in their motor home. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She also attended St. John's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the Women's Sportsman's Club and enjoyed the fellowship and cards at their meetings. But most of all she enjoyed her grandchildren. Later in life she enjoyed reading novels, watching the Hallmark channel and her puzzle books.
Friends and family will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Aug. 30, 2019, from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Aug. 31, 2019, from 10 to 11 a.m.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Aug. 31st., in the funeral home, with interment to follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Marsha Bell officiating.
