Martha A. Parker Obituary

Oldtown, Maryland - On Feb. 25, 2026, Martha A. Parker, 89, left this world and went to meet Jesus, her Lord and Savior, face to face.

Born on Nov. 17, 1936, in Green Ridge Station, Md., to Eugene and Edith (Twigg) Snyder, Martha grew up in the remote area of Green Ridge Station, where her daddy said "she was the bestest in the town". Martha, along with at least 13 other people, were saved on their front porch around 1950. She and her husband, Fred, married in 1953, settled in Oldtown, Md., for over 67 years together. Also, she was a homemaker, loving wife, dedicated mother to her children and showered all the grandkids, great-grandkids, church family and everyone she met with her love.

Martha is survived by her daughter, Christy Bohrer (David); her son, Darrell Parker (Sandra); granddaughter, Chantel Herrell (John); grandson, Brett Parker (Renee); granddaughter, Cassie Riggleman (Larry); great-grandchildren, Joshua, Sarah, Brooke and Parker; "adopted" grandchildren, Chia-Ling Lin and Ashley Bernier; "adopted" great-grandchildren, Justin, Richard and Brooklyn.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Fred F. Parker; her two brothers, Robert and Carl; and her two sisters, Edna and Betty.

Family and friends will be received at the Bethel Assembly of God Church, 17908 Oldtown Road S.E., Oldtown, on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 2 to 3 p.m.

Funeral services will immediately follow visitation at 3 p.m., with her granddaughter, the Rev. Chantel Herrell, officiating.

Refreshments will be served in the fellowship hall at the church.

Interment will be in the Oldtown Cemetery, Oldtown, Md. Pallbearers will be David Bohrer, John Herrell, Brett Parker, Parker Riggleman, Dylan Martinez, Andy McKenzie and Terry Coffman.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to her church, Green Spring Assembly of God, P.O. Box 260, Green Spring, WV 26722.
