Barton, Maryland - Mary E. Griffith, 91, of Barton went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 2, 2025.
Born Feb. 24, 1934, at home in Barton, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Cora "Dot" (Swick) Metz. She was also preceded in death by her late husband, Curtis Griffith; her son, Charles "Bud" Grimm; and her siblings, Jenny Trenum, Charles Metz, George Metz and Glenn Metz.
Mary retired from the A&P Food Stores. Following retirement, she became the manager of the Holiday Mobile Park in Leesburg, Fla. She was a past member of the Barton American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and the Good Sam Travel Club. Mary enjoyed traveling and went on several trips to Europe.
Mary is survived by her daughters, Mary Ellen Cutter (Dennis) and Cheryl "Susie" Riley (Gary). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Dennis Cutter II (Tara), Jennifer Taylor, Christopher Lafferty; her great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Cutter; her sister-in-law, Ellen Metz; and special friend, Robert Lemon.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Eugene Kyle for all of his help over the years.
Friends will be received at the Boal Memorial Chapel, Barton, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 1 to 2 p.m.
A memorial service will take place following the visitation at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Barton United Methodist Church.
