Mary Jane Fiorita, age 86, of Hagerstown, and formerly of Hancock, passed away on Friday, Aug. 6, 2021, at Meritus Medical Center, in Hagerstown.

Born Jan. 10, 1935, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Henry A. and Gladys A. (Whetzel) Munson; and the widow of Lawrence F. "Pete" Fiorita, who passed away April 22, 2015. They were married Aug. 20, 1958, in Cumberland.

Mary Jane graduated from Hancock High School with the Class of 1953.

She was a member of the Second Baptist Church, in Cumberland, and attended Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church, in Hancock, where she served as organist for many years.

Mary Jane enjoyed attending family and high school reunions. She loved flowers, hummingbirds, and her feline companion, Callie, who was always by her side.

She is survived by two daughters, Lisa M. Fiorita, of Kensington, and Karen L. Fiorita, of Hagerstown, with whom she resided. Also surviving is grandson, Earl Lynn "Lynnie" Fleegle Jr., of Hedgesville, W.Va.

The family will receive friends at Grove Funeral Home, 141 West Main Street, Hancock, on Thursday, Aug. 12, 2021, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at Mount Olivet Presbyterian Church, 14253 Exline Road, Hancock, on Friday, Aug. 13, 2021, at 11 a.m. The Rev. Steven L. McCarty will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church for one hour prior to services.

Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
