Mary L. Loar, 89, of Cumberland Valley, Pa., died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2024, at Pennknoll Village. She was born on Dec. 29, 1934, in Westernport, Md., a daughter of the late George and Edith Marie (Shillingburg) Gordon.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Virgil C. Loar Jr.; two siblings, Betty Rankin, of Cumberland, Md., and Harry Gordon, of Westernport, Md.; a nephew, John Rankin and wife Jessica; and a niece, Debbie Benson; 5 great-nieces; 4 great-nephews; a sister-in-law, Sue Cook; and caretaker and close friends, Paul Tew and Tina Spano.
Mary was a devote Christian with a gentle nature. She loved her family and was a faithful and loving wife to Virgil.
Funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family.
