Cumberland, MD - Mary Ernestine (Davis) Lohr, 97, of Cumberland, Md., passed away on Friday, Oct. 24, 2025, at The Kensington.

Born on Jan. 16, 1928, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Ernest E. and Veronica L. (Smith) Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erin M. Lohr; son-in-law, William Crowley; sister, Sr. Ernestine Davis, OSU; and special friend, Raymond M. Shields.

Mary Ernestine was a graduate of St. Mary's High School, Class of 1945. She was employed at the Allegany County Library as the reference librarian until her retirement in 1994. Mary was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Our Lady of the Mountains Parish. At the church, she was a member of the Regional Parish Council, the St. Mary's Parish Council, Church Sodality, Sanctuary Society, Martha's Group, and she was a church lector.

Mary Ernestine is survived by her son, David R. Lohr and wife Diane; daughters, Patricia A. Mills and husband James, and Mary Kay Crowley; grandchildren, Andrew J. Reckley and wife Sarah (Downington, Pa.), Stephanie J. Spicuzza and husband Robert (Raleigh, N.C.), John D. Lohr and wife Jenny (Fort Mill, S.C.); and great-grandsons, Logan J. Lohr, Wyatt A. Lohr, William J. Reckley, Jackson J. Reckley, Jacob G. Spicuzza and Evan M. Spicuzza.

Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday, Oct. 27, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 300 E. Oldtown Road, Cumberland, on Tuesday, Oct. 28, 2025, at 10 a.m.

Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Anthony's Place, 300 E. Oldtown Road, Suite 2, Cumberland, MD 21502, in honor of Mary.
