Mary Lou McGill
The Lord welcomed Mary Lou (Eaton) McGill, 80, of Williamsport, home to be with Him on Thursday, Nov. 14, 2019. Mary Lou was a resident of Williamsport Retirement Village and formerly resided, for 54 years, on Pinesburg Road in Williamsport.
Born Feb. 20, 1939, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Earl Eaton Sr. and the late Mary Trozzo - McCullough. She was preceded in death by her wonderful father-in-law, Donald McGill; her loyal mother-in-law, Laura (Lepley) McGill; her kind stepfather, Lloyd McCullough; her dedicated step-mother, Stella Eaton; her admirable sister-in-law, Jeanne Eaton; her fun brother-in-law, Donald Michael; her dear brother-in-law; William McGill; and her eldest, loving sister, JoAnn Michael.
Mary Lou was a 1957 graduate of Allegany High School, Cumberland, where she was a member of its journalism team and marched with the Arrowettes. After high school, Mary Lou worked for the Central Intelligence Agency, Langley, Va. While her daughter was young, Mary Lou spent several years as a homemaker before working in the accounting department of JC Penny's Department Store in Hagerstown. Afterwards, she worked for 25 years at Miller Lumber Company in Williamsport until she retired in 2003.
On April 2, 1960, she married her childhood sweetheart, Allan George McGill. They have a loving daughter, Dana Peccon, and an endearing son-in-law, Kevin Peccon. Kevin and Dana had the honor of residing beside and caring for Mary Lou when she lived at home in Williamsport.
In addition to Allan, Dana and Kevin, she is survived by her brother, Earl Eaton Jr., of Flintstone; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Carlene McCullough of Bedford, Pa.; her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia and Carl Zinn of Fort Ashby, W.Va.; her sister, Sherry Smith of LaVale; her step-granddaughter, Alexis Peccon of Palm Bay, Fla.; several nieces and nephews; and the young man that Mary Lou considered as a grandson to her, Mason Eugene Bowers of Williamsport.
Mary Lou was devoted to her family and they were the most important part of her life. A fabulous hostess, she enjoyed inviting her family and friends for dinners, holidays or any day! Mary Lou treated people as her honored quests. She brought joy to those around her and made everyone feel valuable. Giving to others brought her more joy than seeking her own enjoyment.
Mary Lou was tender hearted, not rude toward others, and loved them with her whole heart. She was gracious and kind, sincere and loyal. It was an honor to know Mary Lou.
Loving others came from her decision to follow the example of Christ. If you knew her, you saw into a life reflecting the true nature of God's love.
She received an abundance of entertainment from a pet that she and Allan rescued, pampered and named Princess. Her cat, Princess, and her grand-dog, Bunker, brought her much joy!
In her younger years, she enjoyed being in the Homemakers of Williamsport, decorating, creating pottery with her kiln, caring for her lawn, creating floral designs, and numerous home improvement projects.
Funeral services will be conducted at Osborne's Funeral Home, 425 South Conococheague St., Williamsport, on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2019, at 2 p.m. with visitation one hour before services.
Interment will be in LaVale at Rest Lawn Memorial Gardens at the family's convenience.

In sympathy and prayer I remember a wonderful friend and classmate Mary Louise. we shared classes and activities at Allegany High School, such as twirling club JR. band and alcoettes. Mary Lou wrote in my yearbook to remember the fun we had together. Our class has lost a valuable member, and Mary Lou will be deeply missed. May your faith and love of family comfort you and give you peace.

Allan, Dana, and family,
Prayers and deepest sympathy for you all during this difficult time. Mary Lou has been a life-long special friend of mine since we were students at LaVale Elementary School- we have kept in touch since Cordy and I moved to Hagerstown in the 1960's. As you know, Dana, you are also very special to me - it was such a great experience for me as an Elementary Principal to hire you and work with you as an excellent teacher on our staff at Conocheague Elementary School many years ago. Mary Lou, like you -her daughter, has always had that inner strength and faith with the power of God's love! Praise God ! May your faith give you that inner strength and feel His

While I did not know Mary Lou personally, knowing her wonderful daughter Dana, is enough to know that everything spoken about her and her legacy of kindness is carried on in Dana’s life! I look forward to meeting Mary Lou in glory! May God comfort your hearts as you await your reunion, my dear friend, Kevin and Allan. ❤️
