Mary Louise Moore
Born Aug. 24, 1938, in Cumberland, she was the daughter of the late Francis M. Cessna and Frances (Robinette) Cessna.
Mary was formerly employed with Jimmy's Market, Schmidt's Bakery, and RG's (Granny's Deli). Mary treasured working with her boss, Richard Beavers, who became a special friend for eternity. Many would agree she never met a stranger and loved taking care of anyone and everyone. Throughout her many years and numerous contributions to the community, Mary received a Certificate of Appreciation from the City of Cumberland. She looked forward to enjoying every moment with her family. She enjoyed feeding the birds, watching her sunflowers grow, and collecting anything with penguins. Her faith in the Lord made all come to life. Her life was a living example of Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 - "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ."
She is survived by Walter Moore, her loving, devoted life partner and husband of 64 years; two daughters, Cherie Helmstetter, Cumberland and Sheila Lee, Cumberland; grandchildren, Amanda Helmstetter and fiancé, Marc Miller, Kyle Helmstetter, Alice Williams and husband, Jerod; great-grandchildren Ariana Helmstetter and Charlotte Williams. She is also survived by special relatives, Bob, Shirl, and Bobbi Moore of Kentucy, Terry and Dennis Wold of Michigan, Alan Green of Maryland, Jackie, Bill, and Danny Green of Tennessee, and Jean Emert, Tennessee.
Her family would like to thank all of her caregivers from Cumberland Healthcare Center for helping Mary while she was a resident there with her friend and roommate, Evelyn Rummell. A special thanks to Kim, Beth, Jamie, Jackie, Michelle, and also so many other nurses and caregivers for always keeping her in great spirits and great health at her second home. She was always treated with utmost respect and everyone loved her dearly, just like family.
A graveside service will be held at Restlawn Memorial Garden, LaVale, on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2019, at 1 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Helmstetter, Marc Miller, and Jerod Williams.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The Rocky Gap Aviary because of her tremendous love of birds or the Allegany County Animal Shelter in honor of Mary's love for animals.
