Marye Rita Zombro, 73, of Williamsport, and formerly of Hagerstown, passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2022, at Homewood in Williamsport.

Born Monday, Sept. 20, 1948, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late Bobby L. McElfish and the late Rose Mary (Smith) McElfish.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Paul Zombro.

Marye graduated from Ursuline Academy in Cumberland in 1966.

She was employed at the Venice Inn from 1974 to 1987 and later owner of Central City Liquors.

Marye was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Dixon Troxell Post 211, B.P.O. Elks Lodge 378, Beaver Creek Country Club, Washington County Restaurant and Beverage Association.

Mary loved gardening and had a house full of plants.

She is survived by her daughters, Courtney L. Swartwood, of Oracoke, N.C., and Abby L. Zombro, of Buxton, N.C.; sisters, Rose Ann Zimmerman, of LaVale, Mary Cecilia McElfish, of Jefferson, Ga., and Roberta Jean Teach, of Williamsport; grandchildren, Cory, Trevor, Reece, Lily, Chase; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins; and special canine pal, GiGi.

Memorial services will be held at Douglas A. Fiery Funeral Home, 1331 Eastern Blvd., North Hagerstown, MD, Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at 11 a.m. with Deacon William Narin officiating.

Private interment will be in Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery, Flintstone.
