BUFFALO MILLS, Pa. - Maynard D. Diehl, 79, of Buffalo Mills, died on Friday, March 26, 2020, at UPMC Western Maryland.
He was born on Oct. 4, 1940, in Fossilville, a son of the late Dwight and Mary Emma (Shaffer) Diehl.
On Aug. 22, 1960, in Corriganville, he married Merdieth (Lease) Diehl, who survives along with the following family: two sons, Rodney Diehl and wife, Barbara, of Bedford, and Craig Diehl and wife, Stacy, also of Buffalo Mills; two daughters, Angela Tomlinson and husband, Curt, of LaVale, and Dayna May and husband, Steve, of Buffalo Mills; 10 grandchildren, Justin, Corey, Destinee, Tiffanee, Evan, Clint, Melissa, Chandler, Allissa, and Lacey; and five great-grandchildren, Anna Jay, McKenna, Braydon, Blade, and Brody.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth Diehl and Dalton Diehl; widow, Clara, surviving of Buffalo Mills.
Maynard's greatest pleasure in life was his family. His passions included working on his farm in his past years or mowing his yard and tending to his flowers. Until this last year, he relished going to work every day as the property management company his daughter Dayna co-owned. Maynard was a great husband, father, grandfather and will be missed everyday especially at the head of the table during holiday meals. The principles and morals of life, compassion, and work ethic that he instilled in his family will always live on.
Funeral services will be private.
Arrangements by the Timothy A. Berkebile Funeral Home, in Bedford. Our online guest book is available at www.berkebilefuneralhome.com.
"But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings life eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall work and not faint." Isaiah 40:31.
