Mildred Ann Miller, 89, of Hagerstown, Md., passed away on Monday, March 24, 2025, at the Williamsport Retirement Village. Mildred Ann was born on May 31, 1935, in Nikep, Md. She was the daughter of the late Wilmer and Mildred (Johnson) Hyde.

Mildred Ann grew up in Pekin, Md., and was part of the last graduating class from Central High School in Lonaconing, Md. She graduated from the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Cumberland, Md. in 1956. Her nursing career spanned over two decades at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, Md. and Washington County Hospital and Robinwood Surgery Center in Hagerstown, Md.

She married John "Jack" Miller in September 1956 in Lonaconing, Md. They were happily married for 65 years before Jack's passing in 2021.

Mildred Ann was a devoted and loving mother to her three children, Susan Miller, Eric Miller, and Anne Pile. She was an exceptional grandmother to her four grandchildren, Alex Miller, Kyle Snodderly, Paige Miller, and Austin Miller and to her four great- grandchildren, Sydney Miller, Otto Snodderly, Hannah Miller, and Zoe Miller. Mildred Ann was proud to have been a big sister to her brother, Robert Hyde and sister, Mitzi Hyde Smith.

Mildred Ann was an active member of Washington County Homemakers, Friendship Quilters Guild, and the Operating Room Nurses Association.

She had a life-long love of sewing which began at the 4-H Club when she was in fourth grade. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in her honor may be made to the Maryland 4-H Foundation, Inc. at 8020 Greenwood Dr., College Park, MD 20740.

A Celebration of Life memorial will be held at a later date.
