Nancy Lee Bradfield, 74, of Hagerstown, passed away Friday, March 20, 2020.
She was born on Feb. 19, 1946, in Anniston, Ala., to the late Edward Lawrence Helmstetter and Dorothy (Lueck) Helmstetter Stump. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John James Bradfield.
Nancy graduated from Fort Hill High School in Cumberland in 1965. She attended school to become a radiation therapist at the University of Maryland Hospital. Following her schooling, she was employed as a radiographer for University of Maryland Hospital, Washington County Hospital, and finally, Meritus Medical Center. She also served for nine years on Maryland Physicians Board, representing radiation therapy.
Nancy worked for Washington County Hospital/Meritus Medical Center for 44 years before retiring in September 2013. She then volunteered at Meritus helping to preschedule for the operating room. She was a member of Maryland Society of Radiographers and American Society of Radiologic Technologists. Additionally, she was a member of Funkstown American Legion Post 211 Auxiliary, Williamsport Moose Auxiliary, Hagerstown Lady Elks Lodge 378, and North American Rod and Gun Club. Nancy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hagerstown.
Nancy is survived by her two daughters, Courtney Plume and husband, Paul, and Nicole Pearl and husband, Stephen; grandchildren, Ashley Demers and husband, Jake, Adam Plume and wife, Amanda, and Lindsay Bradfield; great-grandchildren, David Umbrell, Aubrey Plume, and Evelyn Demers; sisters, Diana Pozun and Cindy Giebel; brother, Michael Stump; and several nieces and nephews.
Viewing hours at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard, Hagerstown, will be Tuesday, March 24, 2020, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Funeral services and interment will be private.
