Nancy Hedrick Brown Obituary

Culver City, CA - CULVER CITY, Cal. [mdash] Nancy Ellen Hedrick Brown transitioned from this world gracefully on May 15, 2026. She was born Jan. 12, 1948, to Herschel M. Hedrick and Alice L. Hedrick (nee Clay).

Nancy grew up in Keyser, West Virginia, spending summers with family, including numerous beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins, at camp along the Cacapon River.

She graduated from Keyser High and would go on to earn degrees in education from West Virginia University.

She met the love of her life, David D. Brown IV, in August of 1968, and they were married on May 25, 1969. Though a teacher by trade, she was a loving daughter, sister, mother, grammy, aunt, and friend by choice. Over the next thirty years, they would raise three children making homes along the way in Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Dayton, Clifton Park, New York, and Vienna, W. Va.

They moved to Kissimmee, Florida, in 1999 and would spend the next seventeen years enjoying the good life of retirement. Nancy and Dave maintained old friendships and were blessed with many new ones during these years.

They travelled the country, often with a miniature trailer in tow, and enjoyed exploring the world with new and old friends alike. They always seemed to be on the move, but stopped frequently along the way to gather with family and friends.

Later in life, after Dave passed, Nancy relocated to Culver City, California, where she was well taken care of by her loving daughter and son-in-law, Erin and Bob Stillman.

Nancy was predeceased by her parents and husband. She is survived by her three children, David Brown, and his wife, Jackie, of Bluefield, Va.; Christopher Brown, and his wife, Ellen, of Middleburg, Fla.; and Erin Stillman, and her husband, Bob, of Culver City, Cal. Also surviving are her nine grandchildren, Lauren Betts, and husband, Dakota; David and Chase Brown; Anna and Wyatt Stillman; and Tyler, Mason, Logan, and Boone Brown.

She was recently blessed with a great granddaughter, Cooper Betts. Nancy is also survived by her sister, Sally Reilly, and husband, Frank; and her sister-in-law, Ann Parrish, and husband, Arnold; as well niece, Briana Saucier, and husband, Brad; and nephew, Clinton Parrish, and fiancée, Amanda Harman. She is also survived by a host of cousins and nephews.

A celebration of life is being planned for later this year.
