Lonaconing, MD - LONACONING [mdash] Norma Jean Brode, 92, of Lonaconing, died Wednesday, Aug. 13, 2025, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland, with her husband by her side.
Born on May 30, 1933, in Charlestown, she was the daughter of the late George Edward Beeman and Anna Lucretia (Llewellyn) Beeman.
She was the baby of a very large family and was preceded in death by her siblings, making her the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Norma was a graduate of Central High School and a member of the First United Methodist Church, Lonaconing.
She enjoyed crocheting and dining out with her husband.
Norma is survived by her beloved husband, Paul Brode. They wed in 1952 and celebrated 73 wonderful years of marriage on August 2. She also leaves behind her son, Richard Brode; two grandchildren, Megan Robertson and husband, Chris; and Travis Brode; two great-grandchildren, Hayden Robertson and wife, Viktorya; and Hailey Robertson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received on Monday, Aug. 18, 2025, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A., Lonaconing.
A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2025, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Marjorie Hurder-Buhrman officiating.
Interment will be held at Laurel Hill Cemetery, Moscow Mills.
