Mount Savage, Maryland - Paddy Wayne Loar, 89, of Mount Savage, Md., passed away on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at his home.

Born on Aug. 26, 1936, in Frostburg, Md., Mr. Loar was the son of the late Eileen J. Loar. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Gary Tipton; and a stepson, Barry Baker.

Paddy retired from the Allegany County Roads Department and was a United States Army veteran. He was a life member of the Mount Savage VFW Post #6025.

Paddy is survived by his wife of 51 years, Virginia F. (Fran) Loar; his sons, David Loar and wife Cindy, Gary Loar and wife Gloria, and Dennis Loar; a stepson, Everett Baker and wife Susan; a stepdaughter, Beverley Hunter and husband Paul; his brother, Michael Tipton; and a sister, Nona Bucy.

He is also survived by nine grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

Per his request, he will be cremated and a committal service will be held at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap on Monday, May 11, 2026, at 11 a.m. Military honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
