Patty Lou Shanholtz
CUMBERLAND - Patty Lou Shanholtz, 85, of Cumberland, stepped into heaven to live eternally with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, with her loved ones by her bedside.
Born in Cumberland, on Jan. 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Homer C. and Delph (Whetzel) Wagoner. Until she was married to William G. Shanholtz in 1956, Patty resided in Fort Ashby, W.Va.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, John Wagoner and wife, Lois, and Fred Wagoner and wife, Peggy; and brothers-in-law, Jack Orndoff, and Dr. William C. Grant.
Patty was a 1951 graduate of Fort Ashby High School. She was a homemaker and mother who enjoyed her family. She was a member of the Oldtown United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the church choir. Patty sang duets and solos with the choir. She also was a member of the United Methodist Women and the Oldtown Lions Club. Patty was an avid reader, and she and her husband enjoyed 17 ocean cruises with family and friends.
In addition to her husband, William, Patty is survived by her children, Lou Ann Keller and husband, Ernie, William W. Shanholtz and wife, Tina, and Amy Evans and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Adam Hines and fiancée, Christa Crawford, Megan Parsons and husband, Corey, Jeremy Evans, and Lee Evans; great-grandchildren, Makayla, Xander, A.J., Angel, and Kenleigh. Her great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She is also survived by her sisters, Elizabeth "Peg" Orndoff, and Joyce Grant.
Friends will be received at the Scarpelli Funeral Home, P.A., 108 Virginia Ave., Cumberland, on Monday, Sept. 23, 2019, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the funeral home on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Charles Riggleman officiating.
Interment will be in the Maryland State Veteran's Cemetery, Rocky Gap.
Pallbearers will be Adam Hines, Corey Parsons, A.J. Hines, Xander Parsons, Lee Evans, and Jeremy Evans.
