INWOOD, W.Va. [mdash] Paul Edwin Biser, 81, of Inwood, formerly of Fort Ashby, passed away Friday, Feb. 14, 2025, at Hospice of the Panhandle Inpatient Clinic, Kearneysville, after a long and hard battle with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP).

Born July 8, 1943, in Keyser, he was the son of the late Paul M. Biser and Vivian P. (Miller) Biser. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Dann Biser.

Paul was a graduate of Keyser High School, class of 1961.

He had worked as a meat cutter for A&P, Super Fresh and Food Lion, and Wayne's Country Fresh Meats, Fort Ashby store.

Mr. Biser was a former long-time member of the Fort Ashby Lions Club. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council #15610, Fort Ashby.

Paul was a member of Annunciation of Our Lord Parish, Fort Ashby, and had recently been attending St. Leo Parish, Inwood.

Paul enjoyed his time spent hunting with his brothers, fishing with his son-in-law and granddaughters, as well as golf, and visiting wineries.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Barbara (Alkire) Biser; daughter, Paula "Sunshine" (Biser) Joyce, and husband, Mike, Inwood; granddaughters, Olivia and Anna Joyce, Inwood; sister, Linda Dayton, and husband, Buddy, Burlington; and brother, Gene Biser, and wife, Dorothy, South Riding, Va. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Dianne Biser, Burlington; and Dorothy Davis, Romney; sister and brother-in-law, Jennie and Harold VanBuskirk, Glen Burnie, Md.; and numerous nieces and nephews, including very special nephew and niece, Stephen and Rebonica, Springfield, Va.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, Inc., Fort Ashby, on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, from 5 to 8 p.m. The Fort Ashby Lions Club will conduct a memorial service at 6:15 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:30 p.m., with the Knights of Columbus Council #15610, Fort Ashby.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Annunciation of Our Lord Catholic Church, Fort Ashby, on Thursday, Feb. 20, 2025, at 11 a.m., with Fr. Daniel Price as celebrant.
