Raymond "Ray" Thomas Steele, 86, of Charlestown Road, Lonaconing, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023, at Moran Manor.
Born Oct. 4, 1937, in Lonaconing, Mr. Steele was the son of the late David Steele and Lennie Mae (Pifer) Steele. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Steele on Sept. 2, 2021; and a grandson, Shaen Smith.
Ray was a graduate of Valley High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army.
He is survived by his children, Roy Steele and wife, Tammy, Melissa Piere, Sonya Steele, Ellen Smith and husband, Todd and Charles Green and wife, Connie; grandchildren, Tyler and Makhia Smith and Charles, Elizabeth, and Amber Green; a sister, Lennie Mae Phillips; and several nieces and nephews, including a special niece who was at his side when he took his last breath, Becky Nicol; and her daughter, Gabby.
At Ray's request, he will be cremated.
