Richard Emerick Obituary
Stephenson, Virginia - Richard Emerick of Stephenson, Virginia, lost his short battle with liver cancer and went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 30, 2025.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa, and his daughter, Amber. He is also survived by his brothers, Randy (wife Karen) and Ross Emerick; his foster brother, Ricky Hinkle; sisters-in-law Janice Reese, Karen Emerick and Linda Emerick; nieces Windy Wilson (husband Shawn), Destiny, Victoria and Brandi; a nephew, Dallas; and two great-nieces, MacKenzie and Haven Stevens.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois and Zane Emerick; his brother, Ron Emerick; and his son, Zane August Emerick.
Richard graduated from Fort Hill High School in 1976 where he played freshman football.
He was an avid fisherman and was often accompanied by his fishing buddy, Randy Crawford.
Richard, aka LoGear, was employed by Continental/O'Sullivans in Winchester for 47 years. He founded many friendships and touched many lives. He brought joy and sarcasm with his quick wit to everyone who knew him. He was always willing to lend a helping hand.
A devoted husband, father, brother, and friend to all, he will truly be missed. Until we meet again, be kind to one another.
The family will receive friends Saturday, July 5, 2025, at Jones Funeral Home in Winchester from 2 to 4 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 4 p.m.
Donations are being taken to help the family with medical bills and other expenses.
