Robert "Bob" Allen Carney, 78, of Frederick, passed away Monday, April 7, 2025, at Frederick Health Hospital after a long battle with prostate cancer.

Born Sept. 27, 1946, in Cumberland, he was a son of the late Thomas Eugene Carney, Sr. and Levada (Humbertson) Carney. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Bruce Wayne Carney; brothers, Thomas Edward Carney and Thomas Eugene Carney, Jr.; and best friends, Nick Vlachos and Jimmy.

Bob was a 1964 graduate of Fort Hill High School. He enlisted in the United States Army immediately after finishing high school. Between the Army and National Guard, he served his country for seven years. He worked as an electrician for many years before retirement.

He was a proud member of the Beaver Creek Country Club, as well as the Frederick VFW and the Frederick Eagles.

As for Bob's hobbies, he loved golf, golf, and GOLF. He liked to fish and bowl sometimes as well.

Bob is survived by his daughter, Beth Ann Carney; grandson, Thomas Allen Shifflet; sister, Mary Catherine Carney-Kesner (William); former wife, Barbara Carder Carney; numerous extended family members; his Beaver Creek Country Club family; his Denny's breakfast buddies, Ronnie and Joan; and his best friend, Lew Moldovan.

In accordance with his wishes, Bob will be cremated. A Celebration of his Life will be held at Beaver Creek Country Club, Hagerstown, Md., at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Beaver Creek Country Club to be used toward future tournaments held in Bob's memory.
