Oakland, MD - OAKLAND [mdash] Robert Earl "Bob" Friend, 88, of Oakland, died Sunday, July 13, 2025, at his home.
Born August 12, 1936, in Sabraton, W.Va., he was the son of the late Lloyd L. and Nora Katherine (McCartney) Friend. He was preceded in death by his companion, Carol Roean (Bittner) Vance.
Bob was a self-employed brick and stone mason.
He was one of eleven children and is survived by his son, Mike; and his daughters, Lisa; and Barb, and her husband, Dave.
At his request, he will be cremated and no services are planned.
Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Oakland is assisting the family.
