Cumberland, Maryland - Robert "Bob" Eugene Linaweaver, 88, of Cumberland, Md., passed away Thursday, Nov. 20, 2025, at UPMC-Western Maryland.

Born June 24, 1937, in Cumberland, Mr. Linaweaver was the son of the late Loy Ison Linaweaver and Mary Elizabeth (Klosterman) Joseph. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 43 years: Helga Annitte "Anita" (Bohlein) Linaweaver; his brothers: Paul and Francis Linaweaver; and his sisters: Patricia Hopwood and Dolores "Boots" Mace.

Bob was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a former employee of Western Maryland Railroad, and retired from CSX Railroad with 30 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #13, VFW Henry Hart Post #1411, and Our Lady of the Mountains Parish. He will always be remembered for the saying "say goodnight Bob" as he was ending a phone conversation with his loved ones.

Bob is survived by his sons: Loy Dale Linaweaver, Robert Christopher Linaweaver, and Larry Paul Linaweaver and wife, Bessie; his step-daughter, Carol Cornelius; his grandchildren, Christopher and Devin Linaweaver; and a great-granddaughter, Kaelyn. He is also survived by his brothers, Michael Elbin and Thomas Robinson; his sisters, Patricia "Hope" Boyer, Charlotte Watkins, Rose Marie Lana, Midge Beachem, and Anna Kelly and husband, Mike; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A committal service will be conducted at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery at Rocky Gap on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2025, at 1 p.m. with Father Steve Fernandes officiating.

Military Honors will be accorded at the cemetery by the Post #13 Veterans Honor Guard.
