Roger Lee Pierce, 75, of Avilton Lonaconing Road, Lonaconing, died surrounded by his family on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2023, at UPMC Western Maryland, Cumberland. Born on May 4, 1948, in Lonaconing, he was the son of the late Clara E. Pierce.

Roger was preceded in death by a daughter, Dianna L. Pierce; a grandson, Jaron McDonald; and a sister, Colleen V. Llewellyn.

A graduate of Valley High School, Roger went on to own and operate his own home improvement company, Pierce Home Improvement.

Roger was an avid Nascar and football fan. His hobbies included throwing horseshoes and hunting mushrooms. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He leaves behind his wife, Nancy Pierce; a son, Roger Shane Pierce and wife, Julie; daughter, Holly Lee (Pierce) Hoover and husband, Glenn; step-daughters, Stephanie Glotfelty and Sherry Glotfelty Leader; six grandchildren, Michael and wife, Keisha, Blake, Sierra and husband, Gary, Derrick and wife, Paige, Ralin and husband, Ben and Haley and husband, Rob; six great-grandkids, Ashlynn, Mylee, Michael Jr., Deegan, Paislee, and Kynlee; his siblings, Elaine Jacobs and Gary "Paul" Pierce and wife, Vicky; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2023, from 1 to 3 p.m., at Wilhelm-Eakin Funeral Home, P.A. Lonaconing. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home, at 3 p.m., with the Reverend Robin Edwards officiating.
