West Chester, PA - WEST CHESTER, Pa. [mdash] Ronald M. Dick passed away on Dec. 26, 2025, in West Chester.

Ron was born on Dec. 18, 1938, at Memorial Hospital in Cumberland, Maryland. He was the son of the late John Milton Dick (Lonaconing) and the late Alice Eleanor Symons (Potomac Park). He was a member of the Potomac Park United Methodist Church and the Potomac Park Town Improvement Association that proudly improved roads and added street lighting and sewage systems.

Ron graduated from Allegany High School (Campers) in 1956. He played football and basketball all four years, and played trombone in the concert band. Following high school, he achieved his B.A. and M.A. degrees in History and Government Relations at the University of Maryland. While in Grad School there, he served as Editor of the National Political Science Association and was a member of the Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity.

Ron married Patricia Ann Hook of Cumberland in 1960. Ron is survived by their four children: Kathy Ochse (Bryan) of Burbank, Calif.; Dianne Cirillo (Rob) of Wesley Chapel, Fla.; John Dick (Lynn) of Burbank, Calif.; and Cheryl Dick (Glenn) of Burbank, Calif. Their grandchildren include Samantha Ochse (Burbank Calif.), Sophia Cirillo (Corvallis, Ore.), Sydney Cirillo, (Wesley Chapel, Fla.), and Kayla Dick (Burbank, Calif.).

Ron's professional career began in 1963, serving as Assistant City Manager of Greenbelt. In his role with the National Association of Counties from 1966 - 1969, Ron assisted county governments across the nation to implement the National Clean Water and Clean Air Acts.

In 1969, Ron joined the U.S. Postal Service in its Congressional Liaison Office. One of his highlights in this role was assisting with the drafting and implementation of the Postal Reorganizational Act of 1970.

In 1971 he served as the Special Assistant to the then Postmaster General, Ted Klassen, traveling frequently throughout the country with him, as a Labor Relations Advisor and later as the Media Relations Manager. In 1980 Ron transferred to the Philadelphia region, and in 1984 he was appointed as the USPS Southeastern PA Operations Manager and Postmaster. He oversaw the processing of four million letters daily in this 300,000 square foot facility. Following his retirement from the Postal Service, Ron worked in industrial and insurance sales in the private sector.

Ron resided in West Chester for the past 45 years. During his 36-year membership with the PMB Rotary Club, he served as treasurer, golf chairman, and president.

An active golfer, Ron played in several area leagues, his favorite being Loch Nairn Golf Club.

His greatest joys were family and travel, especially summer family reunions in Ocean City, and Deep Creek Lake.

Ron was a humble man, an avid storyteller, and someone who never said a bad word about anyone. He will also be remembered for his love of people, animals, and music, and his newfound passion for singing karaoke.

All who knew and loved Ron are invited to attend a celebration of Ron's life on Tuesday, Dec. 30, 2025, at Calvary Lutheran Church, 730 South New Street, West Chester, Pa. There will be a viewing/visitation in the church's Chapel from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., followed by the memorial service from 2 to 3 p.m. in the Sanctuary. Internment to take place the following day in Cumberland.
