Springfield, WV - Ronald Gene Lloyd Sr., 85, of Springfield, passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born Feb. 12, 1941, in Cumberland, he was the son of the late N.F. Lloyd and Ethel V. (Lambert) Lloyd.

He was also preceded in death by his beloved granddaughter, Carissa J. Bolstad; brother, David L. Lloyd; and sister, Sandra K. Sines.

Mr. Lloyd was a graduate of Ridgeley High School, Class of 1960.

Ronald had worked at Montgomery Ward, Kelly-Springfield Tire Company, Mill Room and Dan's Run Used Sales. He had worked under Sheriff Marshall Nield at the Mineral County Detention Center (Mineral County Jail). He then worked at the Eastern Regional Correctional Facility in Martinsburg. His last place of employment was the Potomac Highlands Regional Jail, where he retired as a first sergeant.

Ron had belonged to Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. He was member of Davis Lodge #51, A.F. & A.M., for over 50 years. Ron felt honored to have the officers present his 50-year pin to him at his home.

Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Jacqueline (Bond) Lloyd; children, Crystal L. Lloyd, Lisa A. Largent and husband Brian, and Ronald G. Lloyd, Jr.; former daughter-in-law, Bobbie Lloyd; grandchildren, Nathaniel G. Lloyd and wife Jessica, Haven V. Phillips and husband Ryan, Ivy R. Aldridge and husband Ryan; great-grandchildren, Arianna C. Bolstad, Bryson G. Lloyd, Dakota A. Lloyd, Niland J. Lloyd and Scarlett Q. Aldridge; special friend, Gary Green; beloved dog, Cooper, along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

There will be a private burial at the High Ridge Farm, Dans Run, W.Va., at a later date.
