Falling Waters, WV - Ronald Melvin Wolford, 84, of Falling Waters, W.Va., passed away on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2026, at Hospice of the Panhandle in Kearneysville, W.Va.

Born Jan. 8, 1942, in Eckhart Mines, Md., he was the youngest son of the late Roy Kenneth Wolford and Gertrude (Vizza) Wolford Eddington and her husband, Jerry. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Roy K. Wolford; and sister-in-law, Leah.

Mr. Wolford retired as a systems technician with Verizon Federal Systems and was a proud U.S. Navy veteran. He was a member of the Communications Workers of America, the American Legion, the VFW, the Moose Lodge and the Redmen. He enjoyed woodworking and the fellowship of his many friends.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dolores Jean (French) Wolford; his daughter, Ronda J. Wolford-Smith and her husband Andrew; his brother, Robert S. Wolford and wife Shirley; and several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his service and his steady presence in the lives of those who loved him.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Rest Haven Funeral Home, 1601 Pennsylvania Ave., Hagerstown, with Pastor Matthew Grimm officiating.

Military honors will be accorded at the funeral home by the U.S. Navy Military Honor Guard.

Friends will be received at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
