Cumberland, MD - Rose Marie (Smith) Hite, 93, of Cumberland, passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at her home with her twin sister by her side.

Born Jan. 16, 1933, in Frostburg, she was the daughter of the late James Henry and Margaret Alice (Feldman) Smith. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Hite; and siblings, Mac and CC Smith.

Rose was a 1951 graduate of Ursuline Academy. She worked for 30+ years as a teller at the C&P telephone company.

Rose enjoyed playing her Hammond organ, gardening, and sewing. Rose loved camping with her beloved family.

Rose is survived by her twin sister, Margie Keegan; sister, Libby McMorran; special niece, Denise Keegan; special nephew, Billy Keegan; and several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 201 N. Centre Street, Cumberland, on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11 a.m., with Father Mark Carter, OFM Cap officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park with her husband, Gordon.
