Fort Ashby, WV - Roxalyn Justine Hott, 79, of Fort Ashby, W.Va., died Feb. 4, 2026, at UPMC Western Maryland.

Born Nov. 15, 1946, in Fort Ashby, she was the daughter of the late Justin Vernon Brown and Hallie Mae (Timbrook) Brown.

She was also preceded in death by her brother, Randy Brown; a niece, Pam Bowman; and former husband, Junior Hott.

Roxalyn was a 1964 graduate of Fort Ashby High School.

She had been the office manager with Dorman & Schubert accounting firm.

Roxalyn belonged to St. Paul's United Methodist Church and was a lifetime member of VFW Post #6667 Auxiliary, Fort Ashby.

In her spare time, she loved doing puzzles and reading. Roxalyn also enjoyed crocheting and making patchwork quilts for her family.

She served in the community, having volunteered at Dawn View Nursing Home. Roxalyn's dedication to the residents earned her the 2016 West Virginia Volunteer of the Year Award.

Survivors include her two daughters, Stacey Ratliff and husband Chris, and Nicole Diehl and husband Brad; precious granddaughter, Kristin Ratliff; sister, Jan Malone; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at Upchurch Funeral Home Inc., Fort Ashby, on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m., with Pastor Gwen Wolford officiating.

Interment will be in Fort Ashby Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Chris Ratliff, Brad Diehl, Justin Brown, Seth Sgaggero, Grover Hott and Lynn Hott.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Fort Ashby Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1110, Fort Ashby, WV 26719; or to the Fort Ashby/Frankfort Food Pantry, P.O. Box 74, Fort Ashby, WV 26719.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mareedu, Susan Lapid and Mountain View Primary Care, and the Staff of HLC at UMPC for providing Mom with such wonderful care!
