Sally Jean Earnest Obituary
Bedford, Pennsylvania - Sally Jean Earnest, 86, of Bedford, Pa., formerly of Cumberland, Md., passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 30, 2026. Born May 19, 1939, in Dry Run, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Reuben and Mary Jane (Steele) Worthington.
In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her son, Edward "Eddie" Earnest; and Sally's sister-in-law, Beverly "Bev" Worthington, who also gained her heavenly wings April 30, 2026.
Sally is survived by her children, Dennis Earnest and wife Diana of Arkansas, Vicki Strait of Warfordsburg, Pa., Michelle "Shelly" Woodson of Cumberland, Md., and Renee O'Baker and husband Russell of Cumberland. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Theresa Cases, Crystal Joy, Amanda Vanorsdale, Zachary Strait, Josh Earnest, Isaac Kneisley, Nicholas Kneisley, Patrick Kneisley, Tyler O'Baker, Alexis O'Baker, Brent Seymore and David Seymore; along with several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Surviving siblings include Eugene "Pete" Worthington of Shippensburg, Pa., MaryAnn Miller and husband Paul of Montgomery, Pa., and Martha "Marty" May of Columbus, Ohio.
Sally will be remembered for her love of family, her strength, and her famous red velvet cakes, which she lovingly shared with friends and family throughout the years.
Memorial contributions in Sally's memory may be made to the Alzheimer's Research Foundation.
Per Sally's wishes, there will be no viewing or funeral service.
