Grantsville, Maryland - Sandra Rae Murray, 77, of Grantsville, Md., died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at her residence following a hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born June 15, 1948, in Sandusky, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Tennis Jackson Crum and Mabel Louise (Chaffin) McKenzie.
Mrs. Murray was co-owner of Murray Signs, a decades-long member of the "Wednesday Morning Rollers" bowling league, a longtime supporter of Dixon Dance Studio, an avid reader, and an animal lover.
She is survived by her husband, Charles R. Murray; two daughters, Tracy (Jonathan) Stewart, Severna Park, Md., Kerry (Chris) Ballon, Friendsville, Md.; six grandchildren, Tahnka (Jacob) Tillson, Aidan Stewart, Ceitlyn Ballon, Charles Ballon, Ryan Stewart and Brennan Stewart; two sisters-in-law, Nancy Bernard and Sue Crum; and several nieces and nephews.
At her request, she will be cremated. A celebration of life will be planned for a future date.
Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., 179 Miller St., Grantsville, and Newman Cremation Services LLC, 1100 Memorial Drive, Oakland, MD, is assisting the family with cremation arrangements.
